The hybrid dewatering unit (DTZ) developed jointly by Orège and Alfa Laval, bringing two complementary technologies together .
It pairs Orège’s SLG® conditioning and flotation drum thickener with the high-pressure vertical dewatering zone of an Alfa Laval belt press. SLG® conditioning builds a stronger and more structured flocculated sludge , which lets the press use its full pressure capacity.
This solution is perfectly adapted for plants short on space or capped by their hydraulic permit, treating waste activated sludge (conventional and SBR), anaerobically digested sludge, and industrial solid-liquid separation at flows up to about 120 GPM.
Dewatering gains reach 20% and, on the most responsive sludges, and 3 to 5 additional points of dry solids.
This hybrid solution takes up less space, uses less water, and needs less maintenance, while producing a drier cake . Combined with the expertise Orège brings on site, it changes nothing for operators and improves plant performance at a lower cost.
With Alfa Laval, we are creating a more effective way to address the operational, economic, and sustainability challenges facing wastewater treatment today.
